Come to Egypt

The Great Pyramid...

Picture
The Pyramid of Giza was built by Pharaoh Khufu in the 2560 B.C. in the fourth dynasty. This specific pyramid is the largest of all the other Giza pyramids. Pharaoh Khufu lived in the prospering years of Egypt, so everyone thought every Pharaoh was a god. The Pharaohs would build these pyramids because they believed that they would serve as a portal to the afterlife. If the pyramid is off in the slightest centimeter, the whole pyramid would have been built for nothing, because they believed that it had to be perfect, or else the gods would punish them to eternal death. In Pharaoh Khufu's time, it was a privilege to help out the King or Pharaoh. It took them 14 years to make the Pyramid of Giza, but they made it just in time. Three years after the Pyramid of Giza was complete, King (Pharaoh) Khufu died. When archeologists discovered the tomb, they said it was the most planned-out pyramid of all time. Why? Well, the pyramid consisted of different stairways and chambers, but the most fascinating things are the three limestone blocks, blocking the entryway to the King’s chamber. Unfortunately, the archeologists weren’t the first ones to get there. Tomb raiders had gotten there first, and wiped the whole place clean of everything, even the Pharaoh’s mummy.  But even with the bad fortune, the Pyramid of Giza is still one of the 7 Wonders of the World, and it has lived up to that privilege even till today.
